About the Role
The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is seeking an Associate– Scaling Up Nutrition(SUN) Business Network to support the coordination of the SBN Benin to improve its visibility and reach. This role will be offered on an 18-month fixed term contract, subject to availability of funding and will be based in Cotonou, Benin.
The SUN Business Network (SBN) is the world’s leading private sector focused nutrition initiative: a neutral platform to foster partnerships and collaborations. It aims to engage and mobilize businesses at a global and national level to act and invest responsibly and to innovate in responsible and sustainable actions.
It focuses on emerging markets to improve the consumption of safe food and to make good nutrition more aspirational, accessible, affordable and available for all people
Key Responsibilities include:
- Participate in the recruitment of national businesses including Private Service Providers and Last mile vendors, to the SBN and utilize the National SBN Membership database for SBN Benin.
- Prepare and support SBN Benin Secretariat Committee meetings.
- Assist the project Manager with the implementation of SBN Women and Youth Empowerment Strategy and Implementation Guide for National Networks.
- Support the creation and the strengthening of SBN sub-national chapters to function effectively, including engagement with the county governments.
- Maintain the SBN data base up to date and support the convening of members in different SBN activities, as well as biannual report.
- In collaboration with the Project Manager, roll out the SBN’s finance, technical assistance and business development surveys to assess SBN members for their needs – and identify new partnerships to address the challenges and opportunities facing business in Benin to scale up their actions or investments in nutrition.
About you
The ideal candidate should have experience in convening different stakeholders for a common purpose and agenda. Previous experience working with businesses within the food value chain identifying opportunities to improve enabling environments for them to increase investment in nutrition is required.
The candidate should demonstrate good project management skills with excellent verbal, research and writing skills. Stakeholder management skills are key to succeeding in this role and ability to work with minimal supervision. An education background with a university level degree in a relevant field such business and marketing, food technology, economics, or other relevant field is required.
About our Offer
The starting gross salary on offer for this role is from XOF 8,604,492 – XOF 9,833,700 gross per annum, depending on experience.
